Need more pages or an extra feature? We’ll quote it before any work starts, so your price never changes without your say-so. Your domain (web address) is registered in your name and billed separately, usually around £10 a year.

On the care plan? Cancel any time and we’ll hand your website over to you. Shopify stores aren’t covered by the care plan: we build your shop and transfer it straight to your own Shopify account, and you pay Shopify for your plan directly.

Graft & Comb is a small web studio from Manchester, building websites for businesses right across the UK.
The name comes from two things Manchester is known for: graft, the hard work behind every small business, and the honeycomb of the worker bee.
You deal with a small, friendly team who know your project inside out, from first chat to launch. No jargon, no hidden costs, and you own your website outright once it’s paid for.
Yes. We work with businesses anywhere in the UK. Everything can be done by phone, video call, email or message.
You pay a 50% deposit to book your build. The other 50% is due when the website is finished, before it goes live.
No. The monthly care plan is optional. It covers hosting, regular checks and free changes whenever you need them. If you’d rather not have it, we hand your finished website over for you to host and manage yourself.
Yes. We build your Shopify store for you, then transfer it to your own Shopify account when it’s finished and paid for, so it’s fully yours. You pay Shopify for your plan directly. Shopify stores aren’t covered by our care plan, but we’re happy to quote for changes whenever you need them.
Yes. Once it’s paid in full, the website is yours.
Your domain (your web address, like yourbusiness.co.uk) is registered in your name, so you’re always in control. It’s billed separately and a .co.uk is usually around £10 a year.
Yes. Each package includes revision rounds before launch. After launch, changes are free on the monthly care plan. Without a care plan, we’ll quote a price for each change before we start, depending on the job.
Your logo if you have one, your photos, your prices or services, opening hours and contact details. If you’re missing anything, we’ll tell you exactly what to send and help you put it together.
Yes. We set up the page titles, descriptions and Google indexing so your website can be found. Climbing the rankings takes time and no one can honestly guarantee a top spot, but we make sure you start with the right foundations.
Yes, a simple written agreement that sets out what you’re getting, the price, the timings and the number of revision rounds, so we’re both clear before any work starts.

Graft & Comb is run by a sole trader and their team, based in Manchester, UK. We’re responsible for the personal information you share with us. You can contact us about it at graftandcomb@yahoo.com.
When you contact us by email, Instagram or the enquiry form, we collect your name, phone number, email address, business name and anything you tell us about your project. If you become a client, we also keep our written agreement, invoices and payment records.
To reply to your enquiry, give you a quote, build and look after your website, and keep business and tax records. We do this because you’ve asked us to (steps before a contract), to carry out our contract with you, for our legitimate interest in running our business, and to meet legal duties such as keeping tax records. We won’t send you marketing unless you ask us to.
We never sell your details. They’re only held by the services we use to run the business, such as our email provider and Instagram, and, for website work, the platforms we build on (Lovable or Shopify).
Enquiries that don’t go ahead are deleted after 12 months. Client records are kept for 6 years for tax purposes.
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Just email us. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
This website doesn’t use cookies to track you. Our fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google to download them.
